The coconut sauce is prepared with freshly squeezed thick coconut milk and is flavoured with small onion and curryleaves that adds flavour to it…when its served on to the fish fillet making it wholesome meals ….

Inspiration to make this recipe comes from a recipe – pan fried kanthari fish fillet which i tried from calicut notebook restaurant…actually they served pan grilled fish fillet drizzled with coconut sauce …we liked it so much ..so I wanted to try out with that dish still in tastebud .

- 200 gm fish Fillet
- 1/2 tsp redchilli powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- salt pepper egg breadcrumbs and for and
- coconut grated to garnish
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- 6 - 7 shallots
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp redchilli powder
- 1 Greenchilli chopped
- salt
- curry leaves

COCONUT SAUCE

- Marinate the fish fillet with redchilli powder ,turmeric powder,pepper powder ,lemon juice and salt for 1 hour
- Beat the egg with salt and keep aside.Then mix salt and pepper in breadcrumbs and spread in plate.
- Dip the fish in egg then roll in breadcrumbs.
- Brush the baking pan with oil and bake @180c for 20 mins .until top layer is crisped.
- In a pan add oil , small onion saute it just it is pink then add curryleaves ,turmeric , redchilli powder and salt finally add the thick coconut milk and stir until it boils and thickens ....yummy coconut sauce ready so flavourful...pour it on top of breaded fish fillet and sprinkle grated coconut on it and serve hot.
